Figures simulating sex acts, often in the form of sneak attacks, are quite common in Cuban Salsa. Some Cuban Leads and non-Cuban copycats deliberately use social dancing to trespass into to Follow’s private space often disguised as tight Nudo figures.

But “Sneak Attacks” are just as often done in plain sight, as a carefully choreographed art form! The idea is that if it is done openly and exaggerated, it is clearly just for a show or for fun.

It is common behavior to put hand and arm or foot and leg between the Follow’s legs “half way” up in dramatic fashion in order to impress or chock the audience or to bump into the Follows front or rear to say it politely.

This has a long tradition in Cuban show dancing even in an otherwise elegant and decent dance like Cuban Son. The audience is likely to laugh and clap their hands. I mostly find the behavior bizarre or very bad taste but sometimes there is an innocent fun element to it.

And you must somehow accept it as “non of your business” if the couple are long time friends or even spouses. The problem is of cause that it legitimizes more or less explicit sexual behavior on the dance floor. One can only wonder how some Cuban Leads behave when they are off camera.

I have seen Piotr doing similar stuff in many videos at the end of his dance classes. Piotr is obsessed with this type of “fun”.
