Cuban Salsa: What can we learn from this dance – #1?
Hakim Dance is a dance school in Melbourne – Australia. I just happened to fall over one of their promotional dance videos on Facebook. It gives me the opportunity to say a few words about a couple of important issues.
We should of cause accept the video on its own terms. It is choreographed, rehearsed and staged as a promotional “propaganda” video for the dance schools.
Nevertheless, it can be useful to talk about the moves in the video, as they relate to our social dancing. In this tutorial I am only interested in the moves themselves not in the specific style of the dancers.
