In Rueda de Casino we have Rueda group moves that only make sense in the context of a Rueda. But we also have Rueda couple moves that can be used also one-on-one. Such Rueda couple moves should not require that both the Lead and the Follow see and hear the Rueda Caller as a substitute for proper leading.

But this bad habit is quite common. It often takes Leads years to find out that what works in Rueda and with Follows they know from class or Rueda, doesn’t really work that well in true social dancing.

Many of the not working one-on-one moves are inspired by Dance Schools like Salsa Racing and Salsa Lovers. One of the worst example is Siete Loco. It has been repeated and uploaded to social media thousands of times over the years as a solid testimony for the low level of many dance schools.

It has taken me years to clean up the clutter and get rid of many such moves that are not that leadable or based on not sound principles.
